Cuvée is a highly themed, action-drafting strategy game that presents players with similar challenges to running a real winery. Each player starts with just two vineyards, and their goal is to build a world-class winery. The player with the most prestige points wins. The game covers a period of 6 years in 6 rounds, each consisting of 5 seasons. Multiple actions are available in every season, players begin the round by selecting their preferences, and this decision determines the course of the entire year. A key factor affecting gameplay is the weather card, which may have an adverse effect, players must do their best to mitigate damages through preventive measures. The round progresses from season to season. Players will optimize grape production, improve quality, and blend their wines to produce high-quality cuvées. They should also expand their facilities: acquire new land, build and run wine houses, restaurants, or guesthouses, and make sure that workers are paid.
