A lifelong enthusiasm for East Anglia's largest bus and coach operator has spurned me to compile this photographically illustrated story of the fascinating Tilling era of the Eastern Counties Omnibus Company Ltd. As well as containing details of all the many vehicles, both new and second hand, to serve the Company since its inauguration in the autumn of 1931, taking us up to the emergence of the National Bus Company in early 1969, this work also overviews the four constituent companies which amalgamated to form the Eastern Counties Omnibus Company, the extensive network of stage carriage omnibus and express coach routes, both inherited and later established by the Company and a photographic record of the many depots, garages, out-stations, booking and enquiry offices and omnibus stations which were either owned, leased or rented. And for the very first time, a comprehensive list of all the Tilling era Eastern Counties vehicles which found their way to erstwhile motor dealer, Ben Jordan of Coltishall is included.
